NDT Training, Education and Experience Requirement for Initial Qualification as per SNT-TC-1A
Candidates for certification in NDT should have sufficient education, training and experience to ensure qualification in those NDT Methods in which they are being considered for certification.

Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level I & Level II Certification Courses
The NDT Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level I / II training course will introduce theory of Ultrasonic Testing. Candidate will learn the various techniques involved in Ultrasonic testing. The course will provide theory lectures followed with practical training around non-destructive tests. The course will encourage group discussions around practical problems and provide field expertise on how to resolve them. At the end of the course candidate will be appearing for a Level I / II exam. Each candidate will be a certified NDT Level I / II Engineer upon successfully clearing the exam.
UT Level I as per SNT-TC-1A
Duration: 40 hours
An intensive course covering the fundamentals of Ultrasonics. Practical laboratory exercises include thickness gauging and a variety of flaw detection, mapping, and evaluation techniques. This course is designed for technicians with little or no ultrasonic testing experience
UT Level II as per SNT-TC-1A
Duration: 40 hours
An advanced laboratory-intensive course for developing practical skills in UT. The course is applications oriented and includes weld inspection, bond inspection, and immersion techniques. Angle beam testing and defect evaluation are covered in detail. This course is designed for Technicians that have completed Level I training and have some experience with UT Testing.
Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging Level I / II
A course covering thickness gauging of pipe and vessel walls using ultrasonic instruments with digital and waveform displays.
Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) Level I & Level II Certification Course
This course covers the full subject matter for Liquid Penetrant Testing - Levels I/II. The course is designed for manufacturers, services companies, and overhaul facilities, which require their personnel to be trained in Liquid Penetrant Testing, used to locate inherent, processing or service discontinuities in ferrous materials. In addition to covering the theoretical aspects of these methods, the course provides demonstrations and practical hands-on laboratory time on both portable and stationary equipment. An intensive study of the theory, processes and techniques applicable to both visible and fluorescent penetrant. Includes both classroom and laboratory sessions.
PT Level II as per SNT-TC-1A
Duration: 8 hours
An intensive study of the theory, processes and techniques applicable to both visible and fluorescent penetrant techniques, Interpretation and Evaluation of Indications. Includes both classroom and laboratory sessions.
Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Level I & Level II Certification Course
This course is designed to comply with the revised training requirements specified in NAS 410 Rev. 2 (effective February 2003) for NDT Level I & II personnel. In addition, it complies with training requirements specified by other documents such as SNT-TC-1A and ANSI/ASNT CP-189. It is for manufacturers, service companies, military organizations, etc. whose personnel require classroom training for qualification and Certification in Magnetic Particle Testing, which is used to detect inherent, processing and service related discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials. In addition to covering the theoretical aspects of this method, the course provides demonstrations and practical hands-on laboratory using both portable and stationary equipment. The course satisfies the training hours needed for both Level I and II certification in accordance with SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-189, and NAS-410.
